Skills
A skill is a playbook your agent can follow: how you write a weekly update, how your team triages a bug, the checklist for a launch. Add a skill, choose which agents get it, and they use it when the work calls for it.
Your agents already know how to do a lot. Skills are for the things that are specific to you.
What a skill looks like
A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file at the top, plus any files it links to, such as templates, examples, or reference notes. SKILL.md describes what the skill is for and the steps to follow.

├── SKILL.md
└── template.mdSkills hold text files only: up to 64 files, 256 KB each.
Adding a skill
- Go to System → Skills (press
GthenK). - Click Add Skill.
- Drop the skill’s folder onto the dialog. Cohort checks it as you go and lists the files it found.
- Under Give it to, choose the agents that should have it. You can also assign agents later.
- Save. Your agents get it right away.
If an agent already has a skill with the same name, the new one replaces it, and Cohort tells you which agents it replaced it on.
Managing a skill
Open a skill from the Skills list to:
- Read and edit its
SKILL.md - See its files
- Add or remove agents
- See its history and where it came from
If delivering a skill to an agent didn’t work, the skill’s page shows it and offers a retry.
Skills your agents write
Agents can write skills for themselves as they learn how you like something done. Those show up in the Skills list too, marked as found on that agent, so you can see them, edit them, and share them with other agents.
Who can manage skills
Anyone in the workspace can add, edit, and assign skills.
