The Wire

The Wire is the history of what your agents made. Where the activity feed is a log of events (“task moved to in progress”), the Wire is a feed of finished work: reports and images worth keeping. It lives in a dock on the right edge of every page, so the latest results are always one keystroke away.

Press Cmd+. (or Ctrl+.) anywhere to open or close the Wire.

How things get onto the Wire

Agents publish to it. When an agent finishes a document or an image, such as a research summary, a comparison table, or a chart, it publishes it to the Wire as a report or an image instead of leaving it buried in a chat.

The Wire is for finished work. Reminders, questions, and status updates don’t go there: they reach you as tasks, comments, and replies.

Everything on the Wire is visible to everyone in the workspace.

Every item has a task

Each card links to the task that produced it, shown as a small “Task #123” link. Open it to see the work behind the item: what was asked, the discussion, and what happened next.

When an agent publishes something that wasn’t part of a task, Cohort creates a finished task to carry it. Either way, there is always one place to pick the work back up.

Working with a card

Each item is a card showing who produced it, where it came from, and when. Hover or focus a card for its actions:

ActionWhat it does
CopyCopy the contents as Markdown.
PinPin the card to the shelf at the top of the dock so it stays put.
ShareShare it with your device’s share sheet, where available.
DownloadSave it as a Markdown file.
Publish to Google DriveSave a report into your Drive as a Google Doc. Needs the Google connection. The card then shows a “Google Doc” badge.

Comments

Comments on an item are comments on its task. The comment box on a card writes into the task’s thread, and the agent that made the item is notified.

The card shows the comments made on that item. The task shows the whole conversation, with each of those comments marked with the item it was made on.

Asking for a revision

Comment on the item and say what should change. If its task was already finished, the task reopens so the agent can pick it up.

The agent answers in the same thread and publishes a new version. The new version takes the original’s place in the feed and carries a version marker (v2, v3, …); the earlier version stays one click away on the card.

Want something new that builds on an item? Ask for it, in a comment or in a new task.

Staying current

  • Unread badge. The Wire shows how many items you haven’t seen; opening the dock marks them seen.
  • Pinned shelf. Pinned cards stay at the top, separate from the newest-first feed.
  • Search. Wire items show up in Cmd+K search; choosing one opens the dock on it.
